Gambino, Gotti and Forgotten Mob History

The Gambino family is one of the "Five Families" of mafia infamy and has a storied history. Its leaders, with a few notable exceptions, have a history of untimely passings. The last time a family boss was rubbed out, John "the Teflon Don" Gotti's reported assassination of Paul Castellano in 1985, deserves to be remembered.

  • I still think that Frankie Boy's killing was a half assed assassination plan, hatched by Gene Gotti, that should never have succeeded, and the killer is adopting a Gigante 2.0 esque insanity defence; I think the craziness is an act. The Mafia truly have fallen.

    • @A 1 That's not the Gambino's. The Mob has fallen; how the hell does a damn Overboss get assassinated in his own drive way like that? I've seen what the Hamilton Mafia is doing in Canada; I believe after RICO obliterated American Mafia power the powerbase moved over there. As for half assed shit from the Gambino's, do you recall when they got a list of made guys from an apartment owned by Gotti Jr? Even his old man was pissed off at his son's stupidity on that one. The Gambinos not killing Quack Quack Ruggerio was pretty stupid as well. I don't even know why I should bother responding to someone who obviously tries to live vicariously through organizations he has no real affiliations with.

      crtrinity1783crtrinity178310 сарын өмнө
    • I'm pretty sure your conspiracy theory is more half assed than anything the Gambinos do. If you think the mob has fallen take a look at what's happening in Canada with the Ndrangheta, Camorra and Cosa Nostra.

    • It's not true at all. The hit was most likely a conspiracy between Domenico "Italian Dom" Cefalù and Gene Gotti, or someone else in the family. Right now, the Acting Boss to Cefalù is Lorenzo Mannino. The Mob is still very much alive, but since Gotti and arrest of major Genovese, Lucchese and Colombo crime family bosses, it's the end of expensive suits and flashy cars.

  • This is your worst video ever. Totally clueless. @1:30 I had to stop watching. Gambino family bosses lasts pretty long, since 30's, only Mangano, Anastasia and Castellano where murdered ..... and Frank Cali lately. La Cosa Nostra is a phrase used since 1930's, has nothing to do with original Italian gangs in US. Literally till like 1910, all Italian gangs where tiny independant cells using Black hand mark to advertise the seriousness of threats. The origin of current structure of Italian organized crime in US started in 1909 after death of Morello and between 1910-1920 when Camorrista's lost sovereignity and assimilated to structure created by Sicilians.

  • Omerta - read _omertà_ - in Italian doesn't mean manhood (and not needing the police to solve issues). Its meaning is the same as in English: silence, as in members must not speak a word about the organization to anyone but those connected to it. Punishments for those who talk can go as far as death.

  • In the 90s oli was a counselor in a prison. The inmates were mostly involved in gangs and organized drug trafficking. Hit men . I ran a group trying to change sociopaths behavior. I also loved to ride motorcycles to work so I often wore a leather jacket to work. One day I had been to the records office and heading back to my office. I had to go threw a series of locked doors to get to the courtyard. When I entered the courtyard a group of inmates had just arrived to the prison on the chain bus and we're being escorted to the cellblock where new inmates were housed for orientation. They were passing as I stepped into the courtyard. A young inmate looked at me and began to run. FYI never ever run in a prison except in the recreation yard. As a herd of officers tackled him he began screaming in a high pitched whale. He was quickly taken to imu aka the hole I continued to my office. Sa short time later a Sargent in the IMU called me to tell me that the inmate thought I was SAMMY THE BULL SENT TO KILL HIM TO KEEP HIM QUIET. THEY FILLED HIS HEAD WITH TALK AND DIE STORIES. HERE IS THE TRUTH AS I KNOW BIT. THEY ALL TALK AND RAT EACHOTHER OUT. I ONLY EVER MET ONE GUY TGAT WAS TRUE TO THE OATH OF SILENCE. BUT HE WAS A OLD SCHOOL BIKER WITH A LAWYER THAT WAS MORE LIKE SAL GOODMAN THAN SAL GOODMAN. More a crime partner than lawyer. He'd send the INMATE pictures of himself in a Vegas hotel suite full of hookers with piles of cash and a mountain of cocaine.
